The 1966 24 Hours of Daytona was a key race in Ken Mile’s 1966 racing season. After winning the 24 Hours of Daytona with the #98 GT40 and the 24 Hours of Sebring, Miles only had to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans to become the only driver to win the Triple Crown in a single racing season. But after the controversial result at Le Mans, Ken was robbed of the Triple Crown. This diecast includes all the grit on its sleek body during that exhausting Daytona victory.

On July 4, 1965, a car created by a handful of California hot-rodders won America its first and only FIA manufacturers’ road-racing championship. That machine, the 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, was spearheaded by racing director Ken Miles and designer Peter Brock. From Carroll Shelby’s shop in Los Angeles, it went to Daytona, Sebring, and Europe. The Shelby took down Ferrari, who had won 10 FIA sports-car titles in the previous 12 years. It was such a rare model that only six of these were produced worldwide. This 1:18 scale model honors a collectible car with a rich history and timeless design as well.
